My Birthday Surprise

My daughter caught me completely by surprise when she hosted a birthday surprise party for me.
She understands that I am an Anglophile and ran with that theme. When I entered the room, everyone did Queen Elizabeth's wave. I of course waved back!
The Queen was in attendance!

Of course there was a pianist! He played God Save the Queen as I walked in! I was overwhelmed!!

The guests all wore hats or fascinators!

The lovely lady in red organized the party...then four days later she gave birth to my second granddaughter...Whitney. It was an exciting time!

She certainly paid attention to detail. Each guest took home a tea tin.

The guests all had a chance to mingle with the Queen.

Even the birthday cake continued the theme!

I was truly surprised and truly grateful!!

What a great birthday party!
Prince Phillip was in Canada last week for a function, and now we know why the Queen couldn't be with him. She had a more important function to attend.:)
It's wonderful that you have a sweet new granddaughter, and she will share her birth year with a future Queen or King.
Your dear daughter made it a most memorable, joyous week for you, Lady B. Happy Congratulations!

How absolutely delightful! I can't believe your daughter did this and then had a baby so soon afterward. I'll bet she was relieved she didn't go into labor at the tea. And I love that the pianist played "God Save the Queen" as you entered. Hope you have a terrific year ahead, from a fellow May birthday girl! ;)
