Tea Pretties Are All Around Us

Welcome to Lady B's
Here is our card.

I found these little teapots at one of our local museums.
They came in three styles in a set of 12.
I will use them for place cards or for
indentifying and describing food.

Last week our club held it's annual
Victorian Wildlife Tea.
We raise money to care for the local
birds and wildlife we have here in
south Florida.

Ladies don their finest and are encouraged to wear hats.
We have a tea, fashion show and silent auction.
(that's me, Dame Ruthie on the left)

You should have seen some of the hats!
I wish I had taken a picture of Lady B.
She was there too with her daughter, Erica.

Here is a treasure I won at the auction.
I know the woman who owned and donated it.
I told her I would think of her when I look at it.
She is one of the nicest ladies and a gorgeous redhead.

Have you seen this?
Smoked salmon cured with darjeeling tea.
I am always on the lookout for tea things...

It is quite delicious on a bagel with a little cream cheese.

How about a cup of Murchie's Earl Grey to go with it?
Murchie's from Canada in business since 1894.
This is one of the three teacups my friend Lauren gave me.
They belonged to her mother so are very special.
Royal Castle China from Bavaria, Germany.
Some of my ancestors were from Bavaria, Saxe-Coburg,
where Victoria's Prince Albert was from.

These are the hand painted tiles behind my stove top.

I share them with you because of the tea cup and pot.

Let's put on the whistling tea kettle...

This is my Valentine present from my Valentine,
my boyfriend, my husband.
It is from Spode Signature Collection.
They made several pieces which are oversized
and numbered.

Here is another one that we bought at the Spode factory in
Stoke-on-Trent.
They may look normal size in the photos but I assure you,
they are super sized.

Thank you, Angela from Tea With Friends.
I was lucky to win one of her Valentine giveaways.
You can see how well this towel and mitt fit into my home.

She sent along this card and tea bag which I can't wait to try.

February has flown by. I hope it was a good one for you.
Here comes March!
Enjoy every day of it.
Dame Ruthie

Love your blog card, Ruthie! The three styles of teapot place card holders are very nice. I have a couple of sets of the teapot on the right, but I like the other two styles better. I've never seen those before.
The Victorian Wildlife Tea looks like it was a lovely event, and you look lovely too!
Love the vintage tea canister you won in the auction! It's definitely the right color for your kitchen.
The hand painted tiles in your kitchen are gorgeous, as are your blue and white transferware teapots! Great post!
Happy March to you!

This looks like a lot of fun, dressing up, visiting, eating, drinking tea out of lovely cups, and winning prizes!

The teapots would fit nicely among my blue & white dishes, and they surely do with yours. You won some very nice prizes.

I'm crazy about your handpainted tiles, and I bet it feels like Spring all winter long.
The Wildlife tea is such a great thing, and the ladies look elegant in their pretty hats.
The Spode teapots have wonderful shapes and scenes. Who's the lucky Valentine! :)

Ruthie I don't know which I adore more; that amazingly beautiful Spode teapot or the charming 'boyfriend' who remembers you with great affection upon every special occassion. You are one blessed Dame! Need I even tell you that I am over the moon with your hand painted tiles? I bet you knew that. What a wonderful blog. Thank you for sharing. You aren't just enjoying wonderful tea parties, but you are working toward a great cause. Bless your heart!

Sorry dear. I hit "Send" twice and so I deleted one of them. It gives me the chance to mention the hats. What a grand idea. The older I get the more I love hats. "Come for tea and wear a hat" -I got brave and wore a new fascinator to church recently and gladly I received good reviews. -Love em.

LOVE the tea canister you won ... and I have never seen that salmon but will surely be on the lookout for some (I really love salmon) ... and I'm so happy the Blue Willow kitchen linens will be right at home in your kitchen!
