Tea Cup Thursday

I came across this delightful trio at a community yard sale. I won't even tell you what I paid, you might say I stole it. It's a great example of transferware. It's really rather delicate for ironstone. As you know, I'm a bone china snob but there are times I make an exception. These pieces are somehow connected with Balmoral Castle. So pretty!

The subtle green pattern is very pretty and the trio looks sturdy.
Perhaps it's for Queen Victoria's sturdy Scotsman, John Brown...her Balmoral-Highland Servant. (winkies:))
Then again, he was known to prefer other beverages to tea!
